Staying at a hotel near Dubai International Airport, on a long layover, or just arrived and looking for a desert safari before checking in elsewhere? Dubai Adventures provides direct pickup from every hotel in the Dubai Airport area, including Al Garhoud, Al Qusais, and the airport hotel corridor along Airport Road.
The Dubai Airport page is different from our other location pages. The guests here fall into three clear groups: transit visitors with a long layover who want to do something meaningful with the time, new arrivals who want to book a desert safari on their first or second night, and business travellers on short stays who are based at an airport hotel for convenience. All three groups we serve regularly, and all three get the same direct door-to-door pickup at the same prices.
Packages start from AED 120 per person. Dubai Adventures is a DTCM-licensed operator with over 12 years of experience.
All packages include direct pickup and drop-off from your Dubai Airport area hotel.
| Package | Price | Duration | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Special Desert Safari (Home Pickup and Drop) | AED 120 per person | 6-7 hours | Layover guests, short-stay travellers |
| Premium Safari, Premium Seating and Dinner | AED 250 per person | 6-7 hours | Business travellers, special occasions |

Dubai International Airport handles over 85 million passengers a year and a large number of those have layovers of 8-24 hours. The Special Desert Safari runs 6-7 hours door to door from your airport hotel. If you have 8 hours between flights and your hotel is a 10-minute drive from the terminal, a desert safari fits cleanly inside that window.
Time breakdown for a layover safari:
If your layover is shorter than 8 hours, WhatsApp us with your flight details and we will tell you honestly whether it works.
Many first-time Dubai visitors land and spend the first night near the airport before moving to their main hotel. A desert safari on night one or two is a natural first activity. We collect from your airport hotel and return you the same night.
Short-stay business guests in airport hotels often have one free evening and want to use it well. The desert safari is a 6-7 hour program that works well as a standalone evening activity without needing to travel far or change hotels.
Your driver comes to your hotel entrance. No taxi to a meeting point, no shuttle to a central pickup. You walk out of your hotel and get in the vehicle.
The Dubai Airport area is on the eastern side of Dubai, which adds some drive time compared to Marina or Downtown guests. The route takes Al Garhoud Road or Airport Road south to Emirates Road (E611) toward Lahbab, approximately 65 kilometres from Terminal 3.
Estimated drive time: 60-70 minutes depending on traffic and your hotel’s exact location.
Airport areas attract a high volume of one-night and transit visitors who are easy targets for unlicensed operators and overpriced tour desks in hotel lobbies. Dubai Adventures is DTCM-licensed, operates its own fleet, and the prices here are the same as anywhere else in Dubai: AED 120 for the Special Safari, AED 700 flat for a private family group. No airport premium.

Pickup from your hotel entrance. The route heads south on Al Garhoud Road or Airport Road, joining Emirates Road (E611) southeast toward the Lahbab desert, approximately 65 kilometres from Terminal 3.
Estimated drive time: 60-70 minutes.
The Dubai Airport area is on the far eastern side of the city so this is one of the longer drives among our pickup zones. The highway route is straightforward and there are no city crossings once you are on Emirates Road.
This is the key question for transit guests. Here is a clear guide:
| Layover Duration | Desert Safari? |
|---|---|
| Under 6 hours | Not recommended |
| 6-8 hours | Possible, WhatsApp us to confirm with your flight times |
| 8-12 hours | Yes, comfortable fit with the Special Safari |
| 12-24 hours | Yes, easy. You also have time to rest and freshen up |
| Overnight stay | Yes, ideal. Book for the evening of arrival |
We do not take bookings that cut it too close. If you message us with your arrival and departure times and your hotel, we will tell you honestly whether the timing works before you commit.
The coolest and most comfortable time for an evening desert safari. Transit volumes through DXB peak in winter. Desert evening temperatures between 15Β°C and 28Β°C are ideal.
Evening safaris departing after 4:00 pm are fully viable. The desert cools quickly after sundown and the camp experience from 6:00 pm onward is comfortable even in summer. For layover guests this is no different to any other month.
Can I do a desert safari during a Dubai layover?
Yes, if your layover is 8 hours or more and you have a hotel outside the terminal. The Special Desert Safari runs 6-7 hours door to door. WhatsApp us with your flight arrival time, departure time, and hotel name and we will confirm whether it fits comfortably.
Do you pick up from inside the airport terminals?
No. Pickup is from hotel entrances, not from inside the terminal building. If you are staying at the Dubai International Hotel inside Terminal 3, you would need to exit the terminal to meet the driver at the landside entrance. For most airport hotels, pickup is straightforward from the main hotel entrance.
What is the drive time from Dubai Airport to the desert?
Approximately 60-70 minutes to the Lahbab Red Dunes via Emirates Road. This is one of the longer drive times from our pickup zones given the airport’s eastern location.
Is there an airport surcharge on the packages?
No. The prices are the same as everywhere else in Dubai: AED 120 for the Special Safari, AED 250 for Premium and Quad Bike packages, AED 700 flat for the Private Family Safari. No location premium.
What if my flight is delayed and I miss my pickup?
Message us on WhatsApp as soon as you know about a delay. We will do our best to reschedule or hold your pickup depending on timing. Same-day cancellations due to flight delays are handled case by case.
Do you pick up from Al Garhoud and Al Qusais hotels?
Yes. Al Garhoud and Al Qusais are our primary coverage areas for the airport zone. Le Meridien, Movenpick Al Bustan, and Premier Inn are all in Al Garhoud and are among our most frequently served airport-area hotels.
Is the desert safari suitable for transit passengers who have never been to Dubai?
Yes. The evening desert safari is one of the best single activities for someone seeing Dubai for the first time on a long layover. You get a direct experience of the landscape and culture that no city attraction matches in the same time window.
WhatsApp us with your hotel name, layover or arrival details, and group size. We will confirm availability and timing immediately.
